Ok, ok, you must be thinking, EVERYONE knows how to make hummus. But I promise you my special hummus recipe is really a game changer! The secret to it is simply adding some of my favourite spices! And what's not to like about the good old hummus right?! It's such a versatile thing to have in your fridge. Top it up on your favourite salad, serve it as a dip for raw (or roasted) veggies, as a starter with some pitta bread or crackers, or just simply add to your favourite rice dish to add creaminess (never thought of that one huh?). Anywayssss lets get to it:
WHAT YOU NEED
1 can chickpeas (keep the water)
1 tblsp tahini
3 tblsp olive oil
1/2 lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp smoked paprika
Salt & Pepper to taste
Topping:
1 handful toasted pumpkin seeds (optional)
1/2 deseeded pomegranate
HOW TO
With a hand blender mix all the ingredients but the smoked paprika. You MUST use the water in the chickpea can as well. Mix it very well for a few minutes until it's absolutely smooth! Before serving sprinkle the smoked paprika, pumpkin seeds, pomegranate and extra olive oil on top. Enjoy!
