What to expect from this Retreat? 

This is NOT just another Surf & Yoga Retreat.

With every retreat I create, I like to bring along tools for self-discovery, personal development and self-transformation.

Besides, this retreat in Sri Lanka will also be a cultural immersion, where you get to experience the local life of this rich culture and explore everything this beautiful country has to offer. We will take a full day for a jungle Safari, where you can see wild animals in their natural habitat and hopefully get a feeling of the Sri Lankan way of life away from the beaches.

The surf lessons will be our play time, but also a great moment to shut the mind up and be fully present. Surfing is a beautiful sport and a way of living. The deep connection with nature and pure joy you experience when taking a wave is very similar to the presence you would describe when meditating. For me, surfing and yoga are deeply connected and various ways and always a great combination in a retreat.


Our daily Yoga practice is made of Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing) and Meditation. Besides our morning sessions we will also have other workshops and activities focused on other tools for self-discovery and personal development. Every practice and workshop is carefully thought of with a purpose, encouraging you to explore different parts of yourself that you didn't even know existed!


It looks like we have a full schedule, but don't worry! We will also have plenty of time to take nature walks, go to the beach, explore the village nearby or simply have "me time". This is your retreat and you chose how you want to spend the time you have in between our group sessions.

Main Teacher

Karol De Souza's journey in holistic therapies started very early in life, from more or less the age of eight her father taught her different breathing and meditation techniques, spoke about things like dealing with negative emotions, awareness and being in the present; all in a very fun and relatable way for a child.


At the age of sixteen (2004) Karol started her Yoga practice in her hometown in south Brazil. Later on Karol moved to Australia to get her Bachelor University Degree in International Business and a few years later she decided to quit her work and follow her passion for Yoga. Karol has visited India twice for long seasons to study Hatha, Vinyasa Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Meditation. But she didn't stop threre, her curiosity for all things related to spirituality and the human subconscious mind took her to study Neurolinguistics Programming (NLP) and more recently she's been dedicating herself to studying other tools for self awareness and personal development.


Karol has been teaching yoga, running and directing her own Yoga & Personal Development retreats in Europe and around the world since 2017. Karol teaches the art of creative and intuitive Vinyasa Flow, Pranyama, Yoga Alignment and also incorporates other tools to Personal Development to her retreat experiences; like journaling, breath work sessions, dynamic workshops in Nlp and more.


After years travelling and teaching around the world Karol has settled in a small coastal town in Portugal, where she offer other retreats also. Besides being a dedicated Yoga teacher she's also an enthusiastic vegan food chef, a passionate surfer, world traveller and nature lover.



The retreat will take place in a small village in the south coast of Sri Lanka. Ahangama is about 2 hours drive from Colombo airport.

You don't need to worry about the details, we will be waiting for you on arrival to take you to our beautiful retreat location.


This home away from home seaside residence is a unique boutique hotel in the heart of Kabalana Beach - one of the most sought after surfing spots in all Sri Lanka. The Nuga House has been built around the Holy Nuga Tree, a beautiful creation of Mother Earth that encompasses the calming and empowering spirit of yoga, surfing, and wellbeing. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated inspired by the beach vibes and relaxed lifestyle. The garden has plenty of reading corners and a private pool waiting for you to swim in when you're back from the beach.

The food prepared during our stay is vegan or vegetarian using local produce and employing locals to ensure conscious and sustainable environment friendly practices to the standards we believe. If you have any dietary requirement please make sure you let us know in advance.

Sri Lanka is a beautiful country, with a rich culture, white sand beaches and lush green forests. We always make sure to hire only locals in order to support its people and value their heritage. Sri Lankan people are known for being very welcoming and friendly, they're used to having tourism as it is the main source of income for most people there. 

FAQ (frequently asked questions)...

What's included?

The retreat fee covers 6 nights accommodation, all the meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner), all the daily classes & workshops, surf lessons and safari.


What's not included?

Massages and drinks you buy from the hotel. Transfer from and to the airport is not included but can be arranged for you when you let us know your flight details. Visa fees and travel insurance is also your responsibility.

How do I apply for a visa to Sri Lanka?

Visas to Sri Lanka are very easily done over the internet and they're usually processed and delivered to your email within 48 hours. 

Once you book the retreat and have your flight details we can give further instructions and help you out with this.


What's the nearest airport?

Colombo is the nearest airport. If you wish to stay any extra days before or after the retreat this can be arranged as well.

What's the level of yoga?

This is an open level retreat, meaning all levels of yoga practice and surfing are welcome. During the yoga lessons we offer flows that everyone can follow, with different variations for beginner to intermediate.

What's the food like?

The food provided is mostly vegetarian, sometimes vegan. We have a team of professional chefs looking after our group to deliver high standard delicious meals prepared with love. Please let us know if you have any food allergies or restrictions at the time of booking (vegan, gluten free, etc)

How do I confirm my booking?

Your spot will be confirmed upon €550 deposit (click below) and the remaining to be settled two weeks before arrival. Your deposit is non refundable.
